What is Hoopers?

Hoopers is a relatively new sport similar to agility that is great fun for you and your dog, but low impact on your dog's joints.  You and your dog learn to navigate a course made up of hoops, barrels, and tunnels.

Hoopers is a great way to exercise your dog both mentally and physically whilst building a great working relationship with your dog.

We only kind, rewards-based methods are used. This is about you and your dog enjoying spending quality time together, learning together, and becoming a team.

Who is Hoopers for?

Anyone!  Hoopers is suitable for all breeds and ages (6 months minimum).

What do you need to bring?

  •  Your dog! Wearing a flat collar, and harness if you use one.
  • A training lead – no retractable or slip leads, please.
  • Treats!  As we use reward-based training we ‘pay’ our dogs for working for us.  Please bring really tasty treats – chicken, cheese, ham… they only need to be really small – think pea sized!
  • A mat or blanket for your dog to settle on when not working

It is quality time with your fur baby at the same time helping with bonding. Ridley our Cockapoo has benefited from improving his confidence while teaching his ‘Mum’ how to be clearer. A really fun time for us both while spending time around like minded dogs.

Sonny, my Cockapoo, and I have loved doing this class over the last year. It is a great way for Sonny to expend some of his energy, as well as a learning experience for him and a chance to socialise with the other pups in his class. Also, I feel that our bond has improved. I can’t wait to start up again!
